Google's Foresight takes meeting notes on your Mac, fully offline
An experimental note taker that keeps your meeting audio on your own computer.
Google has released AI Edge Foresight, an experimental Mac app that listens to your meetings and turns them into notes. The twist: it can run with no internet connection at all. Google says the audio and transcript are processed on your own machine, so nothing has to leave your laptop.
It works a bit like a smart notepad. You type quick shorthand on one side of the screen, and the app expands it into proper notes on the other, using the live transcript. Because it listens through your mic and computer audio, it works with any video call app, and with in-person meetings too.
What’s new:
- You can load in your own files (PDFs, Google Docs, Office files, notes) and it will surface relevant answers when a topic comes up mid-meeting.
- A built-in chat assistant lets you ask questions about what was said.
- It runs on Google’s small Gemma models and is tuned for Apple Silicon Macs.
The catch: Google labels it experimental, and both outlets read it partly as a showcase for its on-device models. It is Mac only for now, neither outlet lists a price, and Google has not shared details like supported languages or minimum hardware. Always tell people before you record a meeting.
