Ant Group's LingGuang 2.0 assistant keeps working after you close the chat
Ant's updated assistant remembers across sessions and follows up on tasks, but it is rolling out in China only.
Ant Group launched LingGuang 2.0 on October 27. The company describes a move from answering commands to an assistant that keeps watching for things you need and follows up on them, even after you leave the conversation.
What’s new:
- Memory across sessions: it remembers context between chats, and tasks run in the cloud beyond a single conversation.
- Ongoing jobs: examples include checking Alipay bills for forgotten auto-renewing subscriptions and watching flight and hotel prices after you book.
- Connections: Alipay, email, DingTalk, Lark or Feishu, and Xiaomi’s Mijia smart-home platform, plus outside tools through MCP.
- Permissions: Ant says it acts only within the access you grant, and you can review or revoke it at any time.
The catch: the rollout is in China, on iOS, Android and LingGuang.com. Pricing and accuracy data are not published, and the privacy claims come from Ant’s own press release. Neither source explains how stored memory is kept or deleted.
What to watch next
Before connecting email, banking or home devices to any similar tool, check what it can see and whether you can take that access back.
Key terms
- MCP: a standard way for AI apps to connect to outside tools and data.
- Cross-session memory: the assistant keeps information between separate chats.
