Claude Enterprise adds shared team budgets, usage reports and surveys
Anthropic gave Enterprise admins tools to see what a team's AI spending is buying and to share one monthly budget.
Anthropic has made three admin features generally available in Claude Enterprise: smart reports, in-app surveys and pooled group budgets.
What’s new:
- Smart reports: an admin picks a team and a date range, and Claude sorts a sample of the team’s work into workstreams, showing spend, output and common snags such as missing connectors. It also suggests workflows worth turning into skills.
- Surveys: short cards ask members about the value they get, like time saved. Admins can edit the questions and export answers.
- Pooled budgets: a group shares one monthly budget, so heavy users are less likely to hit personal limits. Individual limits still apply, and billing admins get email alerts at 50%, 75%, 95% and 100%.
Anthropic says the reports are for planning, not for judging individual performance. TechCrunch reports Anthropic won’t use this data for model training by default.
The catch: The articles don’t say which plans beyond Enterprise get this or whether it costs extra. Availability also varies with setups such as customer-managed encryption keys. TechCrunch reads the tools as a way to prove value to customers; that is the reporter’s interpretation.
What it means for small businesses
- Shared budgets could keep one heavy user from blocking the rest of the team.
- Surveys give you evidence of value before a renewal.
- Reports may show which repeated tasks deserve a saved workflow.
What to do now
- Ask your admin whether your organization is on Enterprise.
- Agree on who may view team reports and say so to staff.
- Check the Help Center for eligibility if you use encryption keys.
